I found an excellent resource if you are looking to get your kids outside and learning some new skills. This book from 1915 covers outdoor building skills, plant recognition, simple sewing, and a whole lot more. These are skills that we and our children should have. Not to mention, they are lots of fun. This book is loaded with black and white illustrations and drawings as well as lots of hands-on information. The title is ‘On the Trail: an outdoor book for girls.’ But, looking through it, aside from some clothing specific information, it would be a great resource to use as a family.
