Before I entered into covenant with the Creator, my life was swallowed in darkness.
Drug abuse, sexual immorality, depression, indifference, and pride—
these were the chains that bound me.
The Father did not merely correct me;
He shattered me,
stripping away every false strength until only truth remained.
This book is an allegorical, poetic account of that descent and rebirth.
It follows a man dragged into the depths of hell and subjected to trial after trial.
With each torment he endures, he is forced to confront the corruption within himself.
And with every victory, a piece of the old man burns away,
until at last he rises—
purified by fire.
In this work, my own testimony is interwoven with shadows and echoes drawn from Poe, Milton, and Dante.
It is both personal and mythic, intimate and immense.
This is the soul and spirit of my poem,
Drag Me to Hell.
